Description
The project is being developed by Lostock Sustainable Energy Plant. Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners KS and FCC Environment (UK) are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 60% and 40% respectively.
The project is expected to supply enough clean energy to power 125,000 households, to offset 200,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year.
The process of combustion will be adopted in this combined heat and power (CHP) project to release the stored energy from the feed. Industrial waste and municipal solid waste will be used as a feedstock to power the project.
Development status
Post completion of the construction, the project is expected to get commissioned in 2025.
Contractors involved
Constructions Industrielles de la Mediterranee is expected to render engineering procurement construction services for the biopower project.
Doosan Skoda Power will be the steam turbine supplier for the project. Doosan Skoda Power is expected to be the supplier of electric generators for the project.
FCC Environment (UK) is expected to perform operations and maintenance for the project.
