The project is being developed by Hidroelectrica Ituango. Colombia's Antioquia department (IDEA), Empresas Publicas De Medellin and Others are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 50.74%, 46.33% and 2.93% respectively.
HidroItuango is a run-of-river project. The hydro reservoir capacity is planned to be 20.07 million cubic meter. The net head of the project will be 197m. The penstock length will be 69m. The penstock diameter will be 5m. The project is expected to generate 13,930 GWh of electricity.
