Description
The project is being developed by Avax and GE Power. The project is currently owned by Avax with a stake of 100%.
It is a Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) power plant. The power plant can run on dual-fuel. The primary fuel being used to power the plant will be natural gas. In case of shortage of natural gas the plant will run on Heavy Fuel Oil.
Deir Ammar II Combined Cycle Power Plant (Deir Ammar II Combined Cycle Power Plant Unit-I (Gas Turbine)) consists of 3 gas turbines with 126MW nameplate capacity.
Deir Ammar II Combined Cycle Power Plant (Deir Ammar II Combined Cycle Power Plant Unit-II (Steam Turbine)) consists of 1 steam turbine with 212MW nameplate capacity.
Development status
The project construction is expected to commence from 2018. Subsequent to that it will enter into commercial operation by 2025.
Power purchase agreement
The power generated from the project will be sold to Ministry of Energy and Water, Lebanon under a power purchase agreement.
