Description

The project is being developed and currently owned by Pakistan Water and Power Development Authority.

Dasu is a run-of-river project. The hydro reservoir capacity is planned to be 1,410 million cubic meter. The gross head and net head of the project will be 184m and 179.51m respectively. The total number of penstocks, pipes or long channels that carry water down from the hydroelectric reservoir to the turbines inside the actual power station, is expected to be 3 in number. The penstock length will be 107m. The penstock diameter will be 5.5m.

Dasu (Dasu Phase 2) consists of 6 units of francis turbines with 360MW nameplate capacity.

Development status

The project construction is expected to commence from 2017. Subsequent to that it will enter into commercial operation by 2026.

Contractors involved

Dasu (Dasu Phase 1) will be equipped with GE Renewable Energy francis turbines. The phase consists of 6 turbines with 360MW nameplate capacity.

GE Renewable Energy is expected to supply 6 electric generators for the Dasu (Dasu Phase 1).
