Description
The project was developed by Covanta Lancaster. Covanta Lancaster and Lancaster County Solid Waste Management Authority are currently owning the project.
The project generates 5.6MWh electricity and supplies enough clean energy to power 20,000 households.
The process of combustion has been adopted in this project to release the stored energy from the feed. Refuse which is a kind of municipal solid waste is used as a feedstock to power the project.

Elliott was selected as the steam turbine supplier for the project. The company provided 1 unit of Condensing steam turbine turbine with 35.7MW nameplate capacity.
Zurn supplied steam boiler for the project. The temperature witnessed inside the boiler is around 330Degree Fahrenheit. The steam is pressurized inside the boiler at 850psig.
Covanta Lancaster and Lancaster County Solid Waste Management Authority were contracted to render operations & maintenance services for the project.
