Description

The project was developed by African Clean Energy Developments. The project is currently owned by African Infrastructure Investment Managers with a stake of 14%, Amakhala Emoyeni Cookhouse Wind Farm Community Trust and Old Mutual.

The project generates 341,000GWh electricity thereby offsetting 315,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to Eskom Holdings SOC under a power purchase agreement for a period of 20 years.

Suzlon Energy was selected to render engineering procurement construction services for the wind power project.

Suzlon Energy was selected as the turbine supplier for the wind power project. The company provided 66 units of S88-2.1 MW turbines, each with 2.1MW nameplate capacity.

Suzlon Energy is the O&M contractor for the wind power project for a period of 5 years.
