Description
Chasnupp-1 is a Generation II nuclear reactor developed by China National Nuclear and CNNC China Zhongyuan Engineering, are the main contractors for the project.
The 325MW reactor is owned and operated by Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission. The company has a stake of 100%.
The PWR reactor generates 2,209.57GWh/annum of electricity. It features 121 fuel assemblies in the core of reactor, the place where fission occurs and energy is released. Safety contol rods that are used to control the fission rate in the reactor are 320 in number.

Shanghai Electric Group was selected as the steam turbine supplier for the nuclear reactor. The company provided 1 steam turbine for the project. East China Electric Power Design Institute and Shanghai Nuclear Engineering Research & Design Institute were selected as the architect engineers for the reactor. The reactor system was supplied by Shanghai Nuclear Engineering Research & Design Institute. The reactor vessel has been supplied by China First Heavy Industries (Group). The material used for the construction of the vessel is Alloyed Steel (SA 508 111). The civil works were carried out by China Nuclear Engineering & Construction.
