The project was developed by BP Wind Energy North America, Iberdrola Australia and Sempra. AEP Renewables, BP Wind Energy North America and Leeward Renewable Energy are currently owning the project.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the Cedar Creek (Cedar Creek I A) is sold to Public Service Company of Colorado under a power purchase agreement for a period of 20 years, starting from 2007.

The power generated from the Cedar Creek (Cedar Creek I B) is sold to Public Service Company of Colorado under a power purchase agreement for a period of 20 years, starting from 2007.

The power generated from the Cedar Creek (Cedar Creek II A) is sold to Public Service Company of Colorado under a power purchase agreement for a period of 25 years from 2011. The contracted capacity is 100.8MW.

The power generated from the Cedar Creek (Cedar Creek II B) is sold to Public Service Company of Colorado under a power purchase agreement for a period of 25 years from 2011. The contracted capacity is 150MW.

Contractors involved

M. A. Mortenson was selected to render engineering procurement construction services for the wind power project.

Cedar Creek (Cedar Creek I A) is equipped with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries MWT62/1.0 (MWT-1000A) turbines. The phase consists of 221 turbines with 1MW nameplate capacity.

Cedar Creek (Cedar Creek I B) is equipped with GE Renewable Energy 1.5-77 turbines. The phase consists of 53 turbines with 1.5MW nameplate capacity.

Cedar Creek (Cedar Creek II A) is equipped with GE Renewable Energy 1.6-77 turbines. The phase consists of 63 turbines with 1.6MW nameplate capacity.

Cedar Creek (Cedar Creek II B) is equipped with Nordex N90 (2.5 MW) turbines. The phase consists of 60 turbines with 2.5MW nameplate capacity.

Deutsche Windtechnik, Diamond WTG Engineering & Services and Nordex were contracted to render operations & maintenance services for the project.
