Description

The project was developed by Burmeister & Wain Scandinavian Contractor and Eco2. The project is currently owned by Octopus Renewables Infrastructure Trust with a stake of 100%.

The project supplies enough clean energy to power 75,000 households, offsetting 250,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year.

Agricultural by-product and wood by-product are used as a feedstock to power the project.

Development status

The project got commissioned in May 2016.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to Statkraft under a power purchase agreement for a period of 12 years.

Contractors involved

Burmeister & Wain Scandinavian Contractor was selected to render engineering procurement construction services for the biopower project.

Alstom Power was selected as the steam turbine supplier for the project. The company supplied Geared Reaction Turbine model turbines for the project.

Burmeister & Wain Energy supplied steam boiler for the project. The boiler installed at the site has a capacity of 152TPH. The temperature witnessed inside the boiler is around 539°C. The steam is pressurized inside the boiler at 110bar.

Burmeister & Wain Scandinavian Contractor is the O&M contractor for the project for a period of 15 years.
