Description

The project is being developed by Aker Solutions and is currently owned by Gaia Power.

The project is expected to supply enough clean energy to power 80,000 households, to offset 430,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year.

The process of combustion will be adopted in this combined heat and power (CHP) project to release the stored energy from the feed. Wood chips which is a kind of wood by-product will be used as a feedstock to power the project.

Development status

The project construction is expected to commence from 2026. Subsequent to that it will enter into commercial operation by 2027.
