Description
The project is being developed by Renewable Energy Systems Canada. Innagreen and Cowessess First Nation are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 83% and 17% respectively.
The project is expected to supply enough clean energy to power 100,000 households, to offset 130,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year.
Development status
The project construction is expected to commence from 2023. Subsequent to that it will enter into commercial operation by 2024.
Power purchase agreement
The power generated from the project will be sold to SaskPower International under a power purchase agreement for a period of 25 years.
Contractors involved
Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy will be the turbine supplier for the wind power project. The company is expected to provide 36 units of SG 5.0-145 turbines, each with 5.2MW nameplate capacity.
