Description

The project is being developed by PT North Sumatera Hydro Energy. PT Dharma Hydro Nusantara and PT PLN Nusantara Power are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 52.8% and 25% respectively.

Batang Toru is a run-of-river project. The penstock length will be 1,472m. The project is expected to generate 2,214 GWh of electricity.

The hydro power project consists of 4 turbines, each with 127.5MW nameplate capacity.

Development status

The project construction is expected to commence from 2019. Subsequent to that it will enter into commercial operation by 2026.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project will be sold to PT PLN (Persero) under a power purchase agreement for a period of 30 years.
