Description

The project was developed by Antelope Expansion Phase 2. Hannon Armstrong Sustainable Infrastructure Capital, Alberta Investment Management and The AES are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 49%, 25.5% and 25.5% respectively.

Antelope Expansion 2 Solar PV Park is a ground-mounted solar project.

The project generates 300,000MWh electricity and supplies enough clean energy to power 26,000 households, offsetting 217,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year.

The project consists of 300,000 modules.

Development status

The project got commissioned in December 2018.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to MCE under a power purchase agreement for a period of 20 years. The contracted capacity is 105MW.

Contractors involved

D.H. Blattner & Sons was selected to render engineering procurement construction services for the solar PV power project.

Power Electronics Espana supplied 35 inverters to the project site.

The project is utilising single axis trackers supplied by Array Technologies.
