July 2021 has seen a decrease of 9.51% in the overall hiring activity when compared with June 2021.
IT jobs accounted for an 8.75% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in July 2021, registering decrease of 1.74% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in July 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in South & Central America with a share of 40.17% in July 2021, a 47.55% drop over the previous month. Computer and Information Analysts came in next, claiming a share of 24.86% in July 2021, marking a 29.51% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Computer Support Specialists with a share of 17.05% in July 2021, a 39.18% drop from June 2021.

Top five power companies in South & Central America’s IT recruitment activity in July 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 40.64% in the overall IT recruitment activity of South & Central America’s power industry during July 2021 over previous month.
Companhia de Transmissao de Energia Eletrica Paulista posted 290 IT jobs in July 2021 and registered a decline of 15.7% over the previous month, followed by Luz Del Sur SAA with 18 jobs and an 89.83% drop. Enel with 13 IT jobs and Energisa with 8 jobs, recorded an 85.71% growth and a 66.67% drop, respectively, while Iberdrola recorded a 50% decline with 7 job postings during July 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in South & Central America’s power industry
Brazil commanded a leading presence in the region’s power industry IT hiring activity with an 87.57% share in July 2021, a 23.48% decline over June 2021. Peru featured next with a 4.34% share, down 89.58% over the previous month. Argentina recorded a 2.02% share, a growth of 40% compared with June 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 83.53%, down by 37.98% from June 2021. Entry Level positions with a 9.25% share, a decline of 59.49% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with 7.23% share, down 21.88% over June 2021.
