Wood Group GTS has secured a contract with Pasadena Water & Power (PWP) for repair and restoration of the GT-1 generating unit at its Glenarm Power Plant in Pasadena, California.
The scope of work involves refurbishment of a Pratt & Whitney FT-4 gas turbine generator, including overhaul of the gas generator, supply of a refurbished power turbine and related ancillaries, and turnkey installation of all equipment. The scope of work may extend to include upgrade of the gas turbine control system and other related equipment as necessary.
Wood Group GTS has been appointed as prime contractor for the restoration of the GT-1 unit, performing all repair activity as well as having responsibility for re-installation and commissioning of the refurbished gas turbine unit. The work is scheduled to commence in August 2012 and is estimated to be completed over the following seven months, ensuring that PWP has available capacity to meet customer demand.
