The Gas Turbine Services division (GTS) of international energy services company John Wood (Wood Group) has launched a new service in the renewable energy sector. Wood Group Renewable Energy Services (WGRES) will focus on the wind turbine market and offer operations, maintenance, asset management, parts sourcing, monitoring and diagnostic and other related services for the renewable energy industry.
The renewable sector is essential to meeting the increasing demand for clean energy and wind power is one of the most important contributors. Wood Group has over 25 years of experience in supporting the needs of the power generation industry and is a world-leading independent provider of integrated maintenance solutions. This new service into the renewable energy sector is therefore a natural extension of services to its core markets.
WGRES has opened offices in Houston and Aberdeen, Scotland, to serve the global market. Commenting on the launch of the new service, WGRES president Mitch Robinson stated: “We aim to provide flexible pricing solutions to minimize customer costs and align ourselves with our customers’ financial and operational goals. With the unique ability to leverage Wood Group’s vast expertise, depth and experience of operations and maintenance services, WGRES is able to provide wind farm owners and developers with a customized solution to their service needs.”
