A waste-to-energy plant is to be developed at Jubail Industrial City 2 in Saudi Arabia.

France’s Veolia has signed an agreement with Saudi Arabia’s Sadara Chemical Company to build and operate a waste-to-energy facility in the PlasChem Park at Jubail Industrial City 2 in the kingdom’s eastern province.

Veolia will develop the industrial waste-to-energy facility under a design-build-own-operate model. As part of the agreement with Sadara, Veolia will treat industrial waste from Sadara to provide energy for providing steam, cooling and instrument air at the PlasChem industrial park.
PlasChem Park is a collaboration between Sadara and the Royal Commission for Jubail & Yanbu (RCJY) in the second Jubail industrial city.
