Withernwick wind farm project is reported to be the first UK wind farm financed without the requirement of government subsidies or support mechanisms.

Energiekontor finance and construction project manager Victoria Allen said: “We are extremely excited to be moving into the construction phase of this ground-breaking project with Natural Power as a key member of the project team.”

Cheetham Hill Construction started balance of plant construction work on site, and the project is scheduled to be commissioned by early next year.
