ENGIE North America has acquired US-based wind projects developer Infinity Renewables for an undisclosed amount.
This deal consists of more than 8,000MW of projects that are in several developmental phases.

By GlobalDataInfinity Renewables and its partner MAP Renewable Energy developed and then divested around 12 projects with a total capacity of more than 1,600MW. All these projects are currently under commercial operation.
ENGIE plans to retain Infinity Renewables’ employees, who will work on the development of Infinity portfolio. ENGIE will own and operate the projects once they become commercially onstream.

ENGIE North America president and CEO Frank Demaille said: “With Infinity Renewables, ENGIE is investing in an experienced, accomplished development team, and we look forward to working with this team to accelerate the expansion of our renewables presence within the US.
“By adding more wind energy to our other retail, solar, and biomass offerings in the US, we can meet customers’ renewable energy procurement goals much more comprehensively than before.”

ENGIE businesses in North America cover renewable and natural gas-fired power plants. The company also has a presence in Canada’s renewable energy segment with 700MW of wind power being generated and more than 2,000MW of wind projects under several phases of development.
