Canada-based Kitsault Energy (KE) is planning to convert various industrial wastes into power in India and Canada.
KE will use a patented and proprietary process to transform various types of waste, including wood from pulp and paper plants, food waste, animal manure, road waste, municipal solids and plant waste from invasive species such as Gando Baval.
KE’s process has been designed to produce high-energy, water-repellent solid biofuel, which burns with no residual ash.
The company claims it is ideal for replacing coal in the steel and cement industries, which are said to be responsible for 10% of fossil-fuel greenhouse gas emissions worldwide.
Kitsault Energy founder and president Krishnan Suthanthiran said: “Kitsault Energy invites municipalities, companies, and governments with a green vision of the future to join us.
“Climate change, the expected cost of carbon in tomorrow’s economy, the desire to get off fossil fuels, the need to develop alternative energy sources, the ever-growing problem of landfills, and the drive for a sustainable future are all compelling reasons to join us. We offer a small step in the right direction.”
