Interocean Marine Services has secured a three-year contract to provide marine vetting and assurance for the Morgan, Mona and Morven offshore wind projects in the UK.
The projects are being developed under a joint venture between BP and Energie Württemberg (EnBW), contributing significantly to the UK’s offshore wind capacity goals.
The Morgan and Mona projects are located in the Irish Sea, between 22km and 37km from the coast, covering a combined area of 580km².
The contracts for difference (CfD) auction for the power off-take agreement will be concluded in 2025.
A final investment decision (FID) is expected by 2027, followed by the first grid connection for power export commissioning of offshore substations in 2028. The wind farms will begin commercial operations by 2029.
Mona’s infrastructure will include 96 wind turbines, four offshore substation platforms and a network of cables connecting to the national grid.

By GlobalDataThe application for development consent for the 1.5GW Morgan wind project has been submitted and accepted for examination.
Morven, situated in the North Sea 60km offshore Aberdeen, spans 860km² and has water depths up to 76m.
It comprises the Morven wind farm array, the Morven-Hawthorn pit grid connection, and the Morven-Branxton area grid connection.
The combined generating capacity of the three wind farms is projected to be 5.9GW, enough to power six million UK households annually.
This aligns with the UK’s target of 50GW of offshore wind capacity by 2030.
Interocean chief operations officer Alex Reid stated: “We are thrilled to have been chosen to contribute to projects of such national importance. As a UK-headquartered company, we take immense pride in supporting initiatives that have the potential to enhance energy security and benefit local communities.”
