Alcazar Energy Partners has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC) and the New and Renewable Energy Authority (NREA) to develop a 2GW onshore wind farm in Egypt.
The agreement is expected to bolster Egypt’s sustainable power generation and contribute to the country’s 2030 vision for renewable energy and environmental sustainability.
The project is expected to generate sufficient clean electricity to supply more than 1.3 million households.
The wind power project is anticipated to engage up to 12,500 workers during the construction phase and provide 1,170 full-time jobs once operational.
Upon completion, it is expected to prevent the release of up to 4.7 million tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions annually.
Alcazar Energy Partners co-founder and managing partner Daniel Calderon said: “This partnership with EETC and NREA highlights our mutual commitment to supporting Egypt’s energy transition through large-scale, sustainable infrastructure projects.
