Renewable energy solutions provider OX2 has entered an asset management agreement with Nuveen Infrastructure to manage the Piiparinmaki wind farm in Finland.
OX2 will oversee the technical, commercial and financial management of the facility, which began commercial production in the summer of 2022, to optimise its performance.
Nuveen Infrastructure is the private infrastructure investment unit of global asset manager Nuveen, which holds $1.2tn in assets.
Nuveen Infrastructure Asset Management managing director Jordi Francesch stated: “We are delighted to strengthen our long-term relationship with OX2 with the signature of this new TCM [total contract management].
“Piiparinmaki wind farm is one of the largest clean energy assets in Finland, and in joining forces with OX2 we reiterate our commitment to excellence in asset management in the energy sector.”
The wind farm comprises 41 wind turbines with an estimated annual production of 700 gigawatt hours, sufficient to meet the annual electricity needs of approximately 140,000 households, based on an average consumption of 5,000 kilowatt hours (kWh) per household.
