UK-based offshore wind services provider Venterra Group has announced the acquisition of Oceanscan Holdings, enhancing its position in the offshore energy market.
Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Oceanscan Holdings offers subsea and non-destructive test equipment, geotechnical services and specialist personnel.
The expertise of Venterra’s companies, including Ordtek, Partrac and Gavin & Doherty Geosolutions, will be complemented by Oceanscan Holdings’ capabilities, asset base and technical knowledge.
Oceanscan Holdings, established by Ken Hunter in 1989, is based in Aberdeen with subsidiaries located in Houston and Singapore.
The group has four UK subsidiaries: Oceanscan Limited, Hydrographic Personnel Resources (UK), Geoforce Technical Services and Sercal Non-Destructive Test Equipment.

Birmingham-based Sercal Non-Destructive Test Equipment is a United Kingdom accreditation service-accredited calibration business serving the rail and power generation industries.

In August 2023, Venterra reached an agreement to acquire Cape Holland, a Netherlands-based offshore construction services provider, for an undisclosed amount.
