Energy technology company SLB has expanded its partnership with NVIDIA to develop generative AI solutions for the energy industry.
The collaboration aims to integrate industry-specific generative AI foundation models into SLB’s platforms, including the Delfi digital platform and the Lumi data and AI platform, to develop data management and technical processes in energy.
The partnership will leverage NVIDIA NeMo from the NVIDIA AI Enterprise software suite for the creation of custom generative AI that can operate across environments including data centres, clouds or at the edge.
SLB and NVIDIA’s joint efforts will focus on building and optimising models that meet the unique demands of the data-heavy energy sector, encompassing areas such as subsurface exploration, production operations and data management.
SLB CEO Olivier Le Peuch stated: “As we navigate the delicate balance between energy production and decarbonisation, generative AI is emerging as a crucial catalyst for change.
“Our collaboration with NVIDIA will accelerate the creation of tailored generative AI solutions, enabling our customers to optimise operations, enhance efficiency and minimise their overall footprint.”
