Description

The project was developed by Siraj I SPV. QatarEnergy Renewable Solutions, Marubeni and Total Solar International are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 60%, 20.4% and 19.6% respectively.

Al Kharsaah Solar PV Park is a ground-mounted solar project which is spread over an area of 10 km².

The project generates 1,800,000MWh electricity and supplies enough clean energy to power 55,000 households, offsetting 900,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year.

Development status

The project got commissioned in October 2022.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to Qatar General Electricity and Water under a power purchase agreement. The power is sold at the rate of $0.014kWh for a period of 25.00 years, starting from 2018.

Contractors involved

PowerChina Guizhou Engineering was selected to render engineering procurement construction services for the solar PV power project.

LONGi Solar Technology was selected as the supplier of the PV modules for the project. The company installed 2,000,000 modules at the site.

Sungrow Power Supply supplied 3,240 of its SG250HX inverters to the project site.

The project is utilising single axis trackers supplied by IdeemaTec Deutschland.
