Description

The project was developed by Al Subh Solar Power S A E. The project is co-owned by Acciona Energia and Enara Bahrain SPV, with their respective ownership stake of 50% each.

Benban Acciona Solar PV Park 1 is a ground-mounted solar project which is spread over an area of 97 hectares.

The project generates 130,000MWh electricity thereby offsetting 61,472t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year.

Development status

The project got commissioned in October 2019.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to Egyptian Electricity Transmission under a power purchase agreement. The power is sold at the rate of $0.078kWh for a period of 25 years. The contracted capacity is 50MW.

Contractors involved

TBEA Xinjiang Sunoasis was selected to render engineering procurement construction services for the solar PV power project.

Astroenergy was selected as the supplier of the PV modules for the project. The company installed 190,774 modules at the site.

The project is utilising horizontal single axis trackers supplied by STI Norland.

TBEA Xinjiang Sunoasis is the O&M contractor for the solar PV power project.
