Description

The project was developed by Canadian Solar and is currently owned by Mizuho Securities with a stake of 100%.

Azuma Kofuji Solar PV Park is a ground-mounted solar project which is spread over an area of 460 acres.

The project generates 106,800MWh electricity and supplies enough clean energy to power 31,000 households, offsetting 50,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year.

Development status

The project construction commenced in 2021 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in November 2022.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to Tohoku Electric Power under a power purchase agreement. The power is sold at the rate of $0.34kWh for a period of 18 years, starting from 2022. The contracted capacity is 80MW.

Contractors involved

Juwi Shizen Energy was selected to render engineering procurement construction services for the solar PV power project.

Canadian Solar was selected as the supplier of PV modules for the project.

The inverters were procured from Sungrow Power Supply for the project.
