Description

The project is being developed by DKRW Wind, Helix Generation and TransCanada Energy. Helix Generation and TransCanada Energy are currently owning the project.

The project is expected to generate 406,000MWh electricity and supply enough clean energy to power 39,800 households.

The Tubular Steel structure to be installed at the Kibby Mountain (Kibby Mountain A), site are expected to be 80m high.

Development status

Post completion of the construction, the project is expected to get commissioned in October 2009.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project will be sold to NSTAR Electric under a power purchase agreement. The power will be sold at the rate of $0.105kWh for a period of 10 years. The capacity to be procured is 30MW.

Contractors involved

Vestas Wind Systems will be the turbine supplier for the wind power project. The project consists of 59 units of V90-3.0 MW turbines, each with 3MW nameplate capacity.

IHI Power Services and Vestas Wind Systems are expected to be contracted for rendering of operations & maintenance services for the project.
