The project was developed by Algonquin Power & Utilities and Renewable Energy Systems Americas. Algonquin Power & Utilities and InfraRed Capital Partners are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 51% and 49% respectively.

The project generates 555.2GWh electricity and supplies enough clean energy to power 50,000 households.

The project is currently active. The project got commissioned in February 2017.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to Wolverine Power Supply Cooperative under a power purchase agreement for a period of 20 years from 2017. The contracted capacity is 149.6MW.

Contractors involved

Deerfield Wind Energy Project (Deerfield Wind Energy Project I) is equipped with Vestas Wind Systems V110-2.0 MW turbines. The phase consists of 44 turbines with 2MW nameplate capacity.

Deerfield Wind Energy Project (Deerfield Wind Energy Project II) is equipped with Vestas Wind Systems V110-2.2 MW turbines. The phase consists of 28 turbines with 2.2MW nameplate capacity.

Vestas Wind Systems is the O&M contractor for the wind power project. The operation and maintenance contract commenced from 2017, for a period of 10 years.
