Description

The project was developed by Empresas Publicas De Medellin and Eolic Partners Chile. The AES and Global Infrastructure Partners are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 51% and 49% respectively.

The project generates 290,000MWh electricity and supplies enough clean energy to power 175,000 households, offsetting 119,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year.

The Los Cururos (Los Cururos I), has 80m high towers.

The Los Cururos (Los Cururos II), has 80m high towers.

Development status

The project is currently active. The project got commissioned in July 2014.

Contractors involved

Vestas Wind Systems was selected to render engineering procurement construction services for the wind power project.

Los Cururos (Los Cururos I) is equipped with Vestas Wind Systems V100-1.8 MW turbines. The phase consists of 22 turbines with 1.8MW nameplate capacity.

Los Cururos (Los Cururos II) is equipped with Vestas Wind Systems V100-2.0 MW turbines. The phase consists of 35 turbines with 2MW nameplate capacity.

Vestas Wind Systems is the O&M contractor for the wind power project for a period of 10 years.
