Description

Banpu, Others, Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand, JERA, Diamond Generating Asia and Kyuden International are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 50%, 25.33%, 12.71%, 5.98%, 2.99% and 2.99% respectively.

It is a Steam Turbine power plant. The power plant run on dual-fuel. The primary fuel being used to power the plant is bituminous. In case of shortage of bituminous the plant can also run on Diesel.

Development status

The project got commissioned in October 2006.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand under a power purchase agreement for a period of 25 years. The contracted capacity is 1,434MW.

Mitsubishi Power was selected to render engineering procurement construction services for the coal fired power project.

Mitsubishi Power was selected as the turbine supplier for thermal power project. The project consists of 2 units of Tandem Compound, Quadruple Exhaust Flow Reheat Regenerating Condensing turbines, each with 717MW nameplate capacity.
