Description
The project is being developed and currently owned by Kyushu Electric Power, Sojitz and United Enterprises and. The company's ownership stake in the project stands as 60%, 20% and 20% respectively.
It is a Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) power plant. The fuel will be procured from Karnaphuli Gas Distribution Company Limited.

Power purchase agreement
The power generated from the project will be sold to Bangladesh Power Development Board under a power purchase agreement. The power will be sold at the rate of $0.037kWh for a period of 22 years.
