The project is being developed by China Gezhouba Group and Ministry of Energy and Water, Angola. The project is currently owned by China Gezhouba Group with a stake of 100%.
Caculo Cabaca is a run-of-river project. The hydro reservoir capacity is planned to be 440 million cubic meter. The gross head of the project will be 215m. The project is expected to generate 8,123 GWh of electricity.
