Description

The project was developed by Kruger Energy Port Alma Limited Partnership and is currently owned by Kruger Energy with a stake of 100%.

The project generates 300,000MWh electricity and supplies enough clean energy to power 30,000 households.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to Ontario Power Authority under a power purchase agreement for a period of 20 years.

Contractors involved

Amec Black & McDonald was selected to render engineering procurement construction services for the wind power project.

Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy was selected as the turbine supplier for the wind power project. The company provided 44 units of SWT-2.3-93 turbines, each with 2.3MW nameplate capacity.

Siemens Canada is the O&M contractor for the wind power project. The operation and maintenance contract commenced from 2008, for a period of 14 years.

CS Wind has supplied towers for the wind power project.
