Description
The project is being developed by Ishikari Bioenergy. Okumura, Kyuden Mirai Energy and New Circle Energy are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 50%, 30% and 20% respectively.
The project is expected to generate 360GWh electricity and supply enough clean energy to power 121,000 households.
Agricultural by-product and wood by-product will be used as a feedstock to power the project.
Development status
The project construction is expected to commence from 2021. Subsequent to that it will enter into commercial operation by 2024.
Power purchase agreement
The power generated from the project will be sold to Hokkaido Electric Power under a power purchase agreement.
Contractors involved
Toyo Engineering is expected to render engineering procurement construction services for the biopower project.
Andritz is likely to be the supplier of the steam boiler for the project.
