Spanish energy manufacturer Gamesa has delivered the 74MW wind farm in Oaxaca, Mexico to Grupo México.
The farm houses 37 of Gamesa’s G80-2.0 MW turbines and is expected to generate enough electricity annually for around 7,500 households.
The estimated annual power generation from the facility will represent 4% of Mexico’s combined installed wind capacity.
Located at one of the windiest regions in Mexico, the facility was commissioned in the first quarter of 2014.
According to the sale agreement between the two companies, Gamesa will continue to operate and maintain the facility for the next five years.
Gamesa has developed, built and commissioned facilities in the country generating more than 244MW wind power, and has around 70MW under stages of construction.
