The industry’s overall hiring increased by 0.27% in August 2022 when compared with July 2022.
Out of the power industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 9.01% share in August 2022, recording a decrease of 0.81% over the last three-month average share.

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 93.55% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Australia’s power industry in August 2022.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 24.14% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Australia’s power industry during August 2022 over July 2022.
Origin Energy posted 10 IT jobs in August 2022 and registered a drop of 9.09% over the previous month, followed by CLP Holdings with 4 jobs and a 55.56% drop. AGL Energy with 4 IT jobs and Iberdrola with 2 jobs, recorded a 42.86% decline and a 100% growth, respectively, while Elektro Eletricidade E Servicos recorded an increase of 100% with 2 job postings during August 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 77.42%, down by 27.27% from July 2022. Mid Level positions with a 12.9% share, registered a decline of 55.56% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 9.68% share, down 57.14% over July 2022.
