July 2022 has seen a decrease of 1.7% in the overall hiring activity when compared with June 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 3.87% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in July 2022, registering a decrease of 0.33% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in July 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in South & Central America with a share of 39.47% in July 2022, a 66.67% rise over the previous month. Computer and Information Analysts came in next, claiming a share of 26.32% in July 2022, marking a flat month-on-month increase. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 15.79% in July 2022, a 20% rise from June 2022.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 106.25% in the overall IT recruitment activity of South & Central America’s power industry during July 2022 over previous month.
Iberdrola posted 9 IT jobs in July 2022 and registered an increase of 350% over the previous month, followed by The AES with 8 jobs and a 700% growth. Enel with 8 IT jobs and Energisa with 7 jobs, recorded an 11.11% drop and a 75% rise, respectively, while Scatec recorded a flat growth with 1 job postings during July 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in South & Central America’s power industry
Brazil commanded a leading presence in the region’s power industry IT hiring activity with a 57.89% share in July 2022, a 46.67% increase over June 2022. Argentina featured next with a 23.68% share, up 80% over the previous month. Chile recorded a 10.53% share, a growth of 100% compared with June 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 71.05%, up by 50% from June 2022. Entry Level positions with a 23.68% share, registered a growth of 80% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 5.26% share, down 66.67% over June 2022.
