July 2022 has seen an increase of 13.96% in the overall hiring activity when compared with June 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 7.13% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in July 2022, registering a decrease of 1% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in July 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Middle East & Africa with a share of 52.38% in July 2022, a 37.5% rise over the previous month. Computer Support Specialists came in next, claiming a share of 23.81% in July 2022, marking a 400% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 19.05% in July 2022, a 100% rise from June 2022.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 38.46% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Middle East & Africa’s power industry during July 2022 over previous month.
Siemens posted 6 IT jobs in July 2022 and registered a decline of 45.45% over the previous month, followed by Rubicon Renewables with 5 jobs and a 400% growth. Enel with 3 IT jobs and The ERM Group with 2 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a flat growth, respectively, while Eskom Holdings SOC recorded a 100% increase with 2 job postings during July 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Middle East & Africa’s power industry
South Africa commanded a leading presence in the region’s power industry IT hiring activity with a 66.67% share in July 2022, a 366.67% increase over June 2022. Egypt featured next with a 19.05% share, flat growth over the previous month. Israel recorded a 9.52% share, a flat growth compared with June 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 61.9%, up by 8.33% from June 2022. Mid Level positions with a 23.81% share, registered a growth of 150% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Senior job ads with 9.52% share, flat growth over June 2022, while Entry Level postings accounted for 4.76%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
