Asia-Pacific power industry contracts in July 2022: China leads activity
Looking at contracts by country, China led the activity in July 2022 with 66 contracts and a share of 77.6%, up 10.9% over the previous month and up 27% when compared with the last 12 month-average, followed by India with six contracts and a share of 7.1% and Vietnam with four contracts and a share of 4.7% during the month.
Looking at the last 12-month average, China held the top spot with 52 contracts, followed by India with 22 and Australia with eight contracts.

Solar is top technology area for contracts in July 2022
Looking at contracts divided by the type of technology, solar accounted for the largest proportion with 30 contracts and a 50.8% share, followed by wind with 18 contracts and a 30.5% share and hydro with six contracts and a 10.2% share.
Looking at power industry contracts divided by segment in Asia-Pacific as tracked by GlobalData, Power Plant was the most popular segment in July 2022, with 44 contracts, followed by T&D Project (37) and Generation Equipment (10).
The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:
- Project Implementation: 47 contracts and a 55.3% share
- Consulting & Similar Services: 21 contracts and a 24.7% share
- Supply & Erection: 12 contracts and a 14.1% share
- Power Purchase Agreement: two contracts and a 2.4% share
- Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: two contracts and a 2.4% share
- Others: one contract and a 1.2% share.

The top issuers of contracts for the month in terms of power capacity involved in Asia-Pacific were:
- Government Of Rajasthan (India): 10,000MW from one contract
- Xinjiang Yecheng: 2,000MW from one contract
- Shenzhen Energy Group (China): 1,800MW capacity from one contract.

The top winners of contracts for the month in terms of power capacity involved in Asia-Pacific were:
- NTPC Renewable Energy (India): 10,000MW from one contract
- China Energy Engineering (China): 3,046MW from 20 contracts
- Shandong Yijian Construction (China): 2,500MW capacity from two contracts.
