Europe power industry contracts in May 2022: Austria leads activity
Looking at contracts by country, Austria led the activity in May 2022 with 16 contracts and a share of 22.5%, up 21.3% over the previous month and up 1500% when compared with the last 12 month-average, followed by the UK with 16 contracts and a share of 22.5% and Germany with nine contracts and a share of 12.7% during the month.
Looking at the last 12-month average, Spain held the top spot with 18 contracts, followed by the UK with 15 and Germany with 11 contracts.

Wind is top technology area for contracts in May 2022
Looking at contracts divided by the type of technology, wind accounted for the largest proportion with 17 contracts and a 42.5% share, followed by solar with 13 contracts and a 32.5% share and biopower with four contracts and a 10% share.
Looking at power industry contracts divided by segment in Europe as tracked by GlobalData, T&D Equipment was the most popular segment in May 2022, with 24 contracts, followed by Power Plant (16) and Generation Equipment (12).
The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:
- Supply & Erection: 34 contracts and a 47.9% share
- Project Implementation: 14 contracts and a 19.7% share
- Power Purchase Agreement: ten contracts and a 14.1% share
- Consulting & Similar Services: seven contracts and a 9.9% share
- Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: five contracts and a 7% share
- Others: one contract and a 1.4% share.

The top issuers of contracts for the month in terms of power capacity involved in Europe were:
- Axpo Polska (Poland): 165.6MW from two contracts
- Econergy Group (Israel): 154MW from one contract
- Indaver Ireland (Ireland): 98MW capacity from two contracts.

The top winners of contracts for the month in terms of power capacity involved in Europe were:
- InTEC Energy Solutions (Germany): 154MW from one contract
- Endesa (Spain): 75MW from one contract
- Jones Bros Ruthin (Civil Engineering) (United Kingdom): 72MW capacity from one contract.
