April 2022 has seen an increase of 8.96% in the overall hiring activity when compared with March 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 10.15% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in April 2022, registering a decrease of 0.53% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in April 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Europe with a share of 62.57% in April 2022, a 9.66% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 14.48% in April 2022, marking an 8.62% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 10.52% in April 2022, a 20.62% drop from March 2022.

Top five power companies in Europe’s IT recruitment activity in April 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 8.6% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Europe’s power industry during April 2022 over previous month.
Siemens posted 179 IT jobs in April 2022 and registered a decline of 2.19% over the previous month, followed by Umicore with 73 jobs and a 386.67% growth. Vestas Wind Systems with 57 IT jobs and Enel with 38 jobs, recorded a 10.94% drop and a 35.59% drop, respectively, while CEZ recorded a 14.29% increase with 32 job postings during April 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Europe’s power industry
The UK commanded a leading presence in the region’s power industry IT hiring activity with a 17.49% share in April 2022, a 1.54% decrease over March 2022. Germany featured next with a 16.8% share, down 32.04% over the previous month. Belgium recorded a 12.16% share, a growth of 178.13% compared with March 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in April 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 70.77%, down by 7.83% from March 2022. Mid Level positions with a 15.03% share, registered a decline of 28.57% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 13.39% share, flat growth over March 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.82%, recording a month-on-month growth of 20%.
