April 2022 has seen an increase of 4.53% in the overall hiring activity when compared with March 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 22.13% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in April 2022, registering a decrease of 0.71% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in April 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Asia-Pacific with a share of 69.14% in April 2022, a 22.28% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 9.91% in April 2022, marking a 10.2% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 9.01% in April 2022, a 2.44% drop from March 2022.

Top five power companies in Asia-Pacific’s IT recruitment activity in April 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 1.5% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Asia-Pacific’s power industry during April 2022 over previous month.
Siemens posted 226 IT jobs in April 2022 and registered an increase of 15.9% over the previous month, followed by Schneider Electric with 62 jobs and a 19.48% drop. Vestas Wind Systems with 28 IT jobs and Snowy Hydro with 12 jobs, recorded a 3.45% drop and a 47.83% drop, respectively, while Water recorded a 10% increase with 11 job postings during April 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Asia-Pacific’s power industry
India commanded a leading presence in the region’s power industry IT hiring activity with a 65.77% share in April 2022, a 10.98% decrease over March 2022. Australia featured next with a 10.36% share, down 24.59% over the previous month. China recorded a 9.68% share, a growth of 16.22% compared with March 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in April 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 65.77%, down by 11.52% from March 2022. Mid Level positions with a 24.1% share, registered a decline of 26.71% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 8.56% share, down 17.39% over March 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 1.58%, recording a month-on-month growth of 250%.
