Singaporean renewable energy firm Vena Energy has selected Offshore Design Engineering (ODE) as the owner’s engineer for its 384MW Yokji offshore wind farm in South Korea.
The contract covers basic engineering, wind turbine generator package support, and engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) preparation support among other services.
Vena Energy aims to make the project commercially operational by 2026 to support the South Korean government’s goal to install 12GW of offshore wind capacity by 2030.
The financial details of the two-year contract have not been made public.
ODE South Korea Country Manager Jinho Paik said: “This is an exciting period of development for the Korean offshore wind market.
“With a strong foundation of work in Korea already secured, we look forward to drawing on our presence in Seoul and our expert service-offering to continue to build relationships with the country’s offshore wind developers.”

By GlobalDataODE said that it will coordinate activities on this project from its offices in Seoul, South Korea, and London, UK.
Vena Energy Korea Head Kwangjin Cheong added: “We look forward to working with ODE for the Yokji Offshore Wind Project.
“We believe that our regional experience in wind energy, augmented by ODE’s strong technical capabilities in Korea, will help us deliver the project smoothly and safely.”
Following the award of this deal, ODE now supports more than 1GW of offshore wind projects as owner’s engineer in South Korea.
