Germany firms SMA Solar Technology and Siemens have teamed up to offer integrated solutions to large scale solar photovoltaic (PV) developments.
The partners will offer integrated solutions and services for decentralised large-scale PV power plants from a single source, starting from the direct current (DC) side to grid connection.
While SMA will supply solar inverter solutions for the utility-scale solar parks, Siemens will be responsible for supplying transformers and switchgear for the high-voltage and medium-voltage range, which can be used to connect the solar developments with the power grid.
The firms will either work as separate project partners or form a consortium to deliver technology and services in all areas of electrical engineering for the customers.
Services to be offered by SMA Solar and Siemens will range from planning and commissioning of the projects to their maintenance.
Integrated solutions and services are expected to increase operational efficiency of the projects, which can bring down the system costs and their implementation time and effort.
