March 2022 has seen a decrease of 2.93% in the overall hiring activity when compared with February 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 10.64% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in March 2022, registering an increase of 0.08% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in March 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Europe with a share of 62.06% in March 2022, a 1.07% rise over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 14.23% in March 2022, marking a 9.24% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 11.99% in March 2022, a 6.19% drop from February 2022.

Top five power companies in Europe’s IT recruitment activity in March 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 2.14% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Europe’s power industry during March 2022 over previous month.
Siemens posted 158 IT jobs in March 2022 and registered a decline of 27.19% over the previous month. Vestas Wind Systems with 60 IT jobs and Enel with 57 jobs, recorded a 3.45% rise and a 39.02% rise, respectively, while Landis+Gyr Group recorded a flat growth with 31 job postings during March 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Europe’s power industry
Germany commanded a leading presence in the region’s power industry IT hiring activity with a 21.87% share in March 2022, a 1.22% increase over February 2022. The UK featured next with a 16.34% share, up 10.71% over the previous month. Italy recorded a 7.25% share, a growth of 111.54% compared with February 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in March 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 69.04%, flat growth from February 2022. Mid Level positions with an 18.97% share, registered a growth of 9.09% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 11.59% share, down 19.27% over February 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.4%, recording a month-on-month decline of 50%.
