The industry’s overall hiring increased by 3.95% in February 2022 when compared with January 2022.
Out of the power industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 6.97% share in February 2022, recording a decrease of 1.11% over the last three-month average share.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 12.5% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Canada’s power industry during February 2022 over January 2022.
Hydro One posted 7 IT jobs in February 2022 and registered a drop of 22.22% over the previous month, followed by Siemens with 6 jobs and a 50% drop. Emera with 3 IT jobs and KORE Telematics with 3 jobs, recorded a 50% growth and a flat growth, respectively, while Fortis recorded an increase of 100% with 2 job postings during February 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in February 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 53.85%, down by 56.25% from January 2022. Mid Level positions with a 33.33% share, registered a decline of 35% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 10.26% share, down 20% over January 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 2.56%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
