February 2022 has seen an increase of 1.64% in the overall hiring activity when compared with January 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 10.5% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in February 2022, registering an increase of 0.33% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in February 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Europe with a share of 60.19% in February 2022, a 26.63% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 16.35% in February 2022, marking a 4.27% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 12.6% in February 2022, a 24.19% drop from January 2022.

Top five power companies in Europe’s IT recruitment activity in February 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 29.04% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Europe’s power industry during February 2022 over previous month.
Siemens posted 212 IT jobs in February 2022 and registered a decline of 32.48% over the previous month, followed by Vestas Wind Systems with 56 jobs and a 22.22% drop. Umicore with 49 IT jobs and Enel with 41 jobs, recorded a 57.39% drop and a 173.33% rise, respectively, while Schneider Electric recorded a flat growth with 28 job postings during February 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Europe’s power industry
Germany commanded a leading presence in the region’s power industry IT hiring activity with a 22.52% share in February 2022, a 28.51% decrease over January 2022. The UK featured next with a 12.6% share, down 41.25% over the previous month. Spain recorded an 8.58% share, a growth of 23.08% compared with January 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in February 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 67.56%, down by 18.84% from January 2022. Mid Level positions with a 16.89% share, registered a decline of 32.26% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 14.75% share, down 18.52% over January 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.8%, recording a month-on-month growth of 20%.
