German engineering group Siemens has signed a long-term service contract with Abu Dhabi-based gas company Dolphin Energy to support its Dolphin gas project in Qatar.
Under the deal, Siemens will provide service and maintenance for nine aero-derivative gas turbines from former Rolls-Royce Energy and the related nine Dresser-Rand compressors, for eighteen years.
Siemens divisions power and gas, wind power and renewables, and power generation services head and managing board member Lisa Davis said: "This order impressively underscores that we are on the right path with our acquisitions of Rolls-Royce Energy and Dresser-Rand…And we’re gaining speed.
"Together, we not only have the biggest installed fleet in the industry worldwide, we are now also able to offer our customers from oil and gas, and from industry a unique range of services, which opens up great opportunities."
Presently, Siemens has 120,000 units of gas turbines, steam turbines and compressors.
Dolphin Energy CEO Adel Ahmed Albuainain said: "This long-term service agreement places our company on an even stronger footing because it supports our efforts to ensure the sustainability, reliability and availability of natural gas exports to the UAE and Oman.

From Qatar’s natural gas field, North Field, Dolphin Gas project carries out production, processing and transportation of natural gas.
Mubadala Development has 51% share in Dolphin Energy and the remaining shares are owned equally by Total and Occidental.
Siemens has operations in more than 200 countries and it focuses on the areas such as electrification, automation and digitalisation.
